My panels and the pre-Alps!  The photovoltaic panels are up and will be connected today! It took a while to have them installed and the weather did not help a bit but hopefully by the end of the day every time we switch lights, toaster, microwave, oven, hair-dryer, stereo, computer, you name it, we will think of our friend the sun! It is one of the dreams I had once we left the British Island and retreated to the country: getting off the grid bit by bit in an attempt to live a more sustainable life. It is a fascinating technology and it pays by itself: the excess energy we do not use will be sold to the electricity company and this profit will pay for the panels! Hurray! I am so looking forward to see the KWh counter moving.
